A Boy with a Lens for an Eye
At the heart of my photography, it has always been about people, places and the moments happening around me.
I often work around projects inspired by experiences, places or ideas that interest me. Having that focus helps me slow down and look more carefully. I don’t need to photograph everything I see — I can observe, wait and become more aware of what might make’s a photograph.
For me, that process is part of developing as a photographer. It sharpens my eye, gives more thought to what I’m making, and keeps the creative part of my mind working in the background.
Some photographs happen in a moment. Other projects stay with me for days, weeks or even years. Whether I’m photographing the street, a portrait, an event or working on a commission, I approach it in much the same way — stay curious, pay attention and allow the photograph to happen.
Photography has become the way I explore the world, meet people and tell the stories I find along the way.
